BCCI is not Satisfied with the Team Performance In World T20

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has come under attack over his team’s exit from the ongoing Twenty-20 World Championship in Sri Lanka.

Vice president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rajiv Shukla, said on Wednesday that he was not happy with the Indian team’s performance.

Once hailed as Captain Marvel, Dhoni has been facing scrutiny over his debatable decisions which allegedly let the team down.

Former cricketer Chetan Sharma blamed Dhoni for India’s loss, saying his “mindless decisions”, infighting, experimentations and wrong selections were the reasons for India’s exit.

The captain was clearly on the back foot, defending his decision-making in the crucial match against South Africa on Tuesday night, which saw India out of the prestigious event on the basis of poor run rate as compared to Pakistan and Australia.

With two victories each in Group B of the Super Eight stage, India, Australia and Pakistan had finished a joint first in the pool but the other two teams qualified for the semifinals on their better net run rates.

After winning the last match against the Proteas by a run, which saw them out of the championship, Dhoni had blamed it on rain during the match Australia, which India lost badly, for the poor net rate.
