Bangladesh Entered in Asia Cup Final

In a significant achievement, Bangladesh entered in Asia Cup final by beating Sri Lanka by five wickets at the Shere Bangla stadium on Tuesday.

India was knocked out of the Asia Cup. India finished level on points with the Bangladesh, but lost out because of their defeat against host country earlier in the competition.

Chasing a target of 212 after a rain interruption, the determined Bangladesh team held their nerve to make their entry into the Asia Cup finals, where they will meet Pakistan on Thursday.

Nasir finished unbeaten on 36, by heating the winning boundary straight down the ground, in 38th over. Iqbal and Al Hasan added half centuries each in scorecard of Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka was all out for 232 in 49.5 overs with Chamara Kupugedegera (62 off 92), Lahiru Thirimanne (48 off 73) and Upul Tharanga (48 off 44) making major contributions. But target was reduced to 212 for 40 overs, due to the rain.

It was a significant win for Bangladesh. This is the first time for Bangladesh to play in Asia cup Finals. Team will face Pakistan in finals on thrusday.
