Champions League T20 2012 Teams

 

 

Mumbai Indians

Last year Champions league T20 2011 champion Mumbai Indians, is a franchise cricket team representing the city of Mumbai in the Indian Premier League. The team is one of the eight founding members of the IPL in 2008. Mumbai Indians are currently led by Harbhajan Singh and coached by Robin Singh. They are one of the main teams in the city, together with clubs like the Mumbai cricket team and football club Mumbai FC. The team is owned by India’s biggest conglomerate, Reliance Industries, through its 100% subsidiary India Win Sports.

The official theme of the team is Duniya Hila Denge Hum (We will rock the world) and the official colors are purple and gold.

 

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings is the most successful team in the Indian Premier League team so far. The team has won the IPL title twice in succession (2010 and 2011) and reached the play-offs every season. They were also the first Indian team to have won the Champions League Twenty20. The present coach of CSK is Stephen Fleming and Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the captain of team.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders team is winner of IPL Season 2012. Kolkata Knight Riders is a cricket franchise representing Kolkata in the Indian Premier League and owned by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment in partnership with actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta from the Mehta Group. The team is currently captained by Gautam Gambhir and coached by Trevor Bayliss, a former Australian cricketer. The bowling legend, Wasim Akram is the team’s bowling consultant and mentor. The team won its first title in 2012 by defeating defending champions Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets at their home ground in Chennai.

The official theme of the team is Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo Re (We will do it, Fight for it, and Win it) and the official colors are purple and gold.

Delhi Daredevils

Delhi Daredevils is the Delhi franchise of the Indian Premier League in cricket. The franchise is owned by the GMR Group. Founded in 2008, the team is currently captained by Virender Sehwag and coached by former South African cricketer Eric Simons. They play all their home matches at the historic Feroz Shah Kotla Ground.

Delhi was the table topper or the league topper in 2012. Morne Morkel of Delhi was the highest wicket taker of the tournament. Delhi came third in the tournament and qualified for the second time in Champions League T20.

Perth Scorchers Team Squads

The Perth Scorchers are a franchise in the Big Bash League, the domestic Twenty20 cricket of Australia. The Scorchers wear an orange kit. The Scorchers’ inaugural captain is Marcus North. Mickey Arthur was originally appointed coach, but quit before the beginning of the 2011–12 season after he was appointed coach of the Australian cricket team. He was replaced by his former assistant, Lachlan Stevens.

Auckland Team Squads

The Auckland domestic cricket team represent the Auckland region and are one of six New Zealand domestic first class cricket teams. Governed by the Auckland Cricket Association they are the most successful side having won 26 Plunket Shield titles, eight Ford Trophy championships and the HRV Twenty20 Cup twice.

Sydney Sixers Team Squads

The Sydney Sixers are a franchise in Australia’s domestic Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League.

Along with the Sydney Thunder, the Sixers are the successors of the New South Wales Blues who played in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash.

The Sixers represent eastern Sydney and their home ground is the Sydney Cricket Ground while the Thunder will play out of ANZ Stadium in Sydney’s west.

The inaugural coach is Trevor Bayliss and Stuart Clark is the General Manager. The Sixers’ inaugural captain is Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin.

Nashua Titans Team Squads

The Nashua Titans is the name of the northernmost top-level cricket franchise in South Africa. Its member unions are the Easterns Cricket Union and Northerns Cricket Union. The home venues of the Titans are at SuperSport Park, Centurion and Willowmoore Park, Benoni

The Nashua Titans plays in the SuperSport Series first class competition, the Domestic 50-over Championship and the MiWay T20 Championship. They are the current Supersport Series and MiWay T20 Championship champions, and have qualified to participate in the 2012 Champions League, to be held in India.

Trinidad and Tobago Team Squads

The Trinidad and Tobago cricket team is the representative cricket team of the country of Trinidad and Tobago (West Indies).

The team takes part in inter-regional cricket competitions in the Caribbean, such as the Regional Four Day Competition and the WICB Cup, with the best players selected for the West Indies team, which plays international cricket. Though a team represented T&T in the 1998 Commonwealth Games. Trinidad and Tobago have won the Regional Four Day Competition five times and the WICB Cup ten times. They are the current Caribbean Twenty20 champions.

T&T cricket team participated and were runners-up at the inaugural Champions’ league T-20.The team was the most popular and entertaining team of the competition and stayed unbeaten until the finals.

Highveld Lions

The Highveld Lions is the name used by the combined Gauteng and North West first class cricket teams in South Africa. The home venues are the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and Senwes Park in Potchefstroom.

The combined team plays in the SuperSport Series first class cricket competition as well as in the MTN Domestic Championship and Standard Bank Twenty20 limited over competitions.

Ruhuna Royals

Ruhuna cricket team was one of the five provincial cricket teams that took part in Sri Lankan Inter-Provincial Tournament, representing Southern Province. The Ruhuna cricket team was based in Galle. It drew cricketers from Sri Lanka Premier Trophy. Team colors were Red and Blue. Ruhuna cricket team took part in all three provincial tournaments: the first-class cricket competition known as the Inter-Provincial First Class Tournament, the List A competition known as the Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament and the Twenty20 competition known as the Inter-Provincial Twenty20.

Sialkot Stallions

The Sialkot Stallions are a Faysal Bank T20 Cup team, based in Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan. The team was established in 2004 and its home ground is Jinnah Stadium located in Sialkot. The team is one of several proposed franchises for the Pakistan Super League. Former Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik is the current captain of the Stallions. The manager of the team is Naeem Akhtar.

The Stallions are the most successful team in Pakistani Twenty20 history, having won five consecutive Faysal Bank T20 Cups between 2005/06 and 2009/10. This period of success included a winning streak of 25 consecutive games, a world record for a top-level Twenty20 competition.
