Featured Player: Luke Pomersbach

12th man for King's XI Punjab, Luke Pomersbach, speaks about his experience so far in the IPL. Special thanks must go to his local club Gosnells who have been nice enough to share this update with us.


Luke writes:

"So far India has already been an amazing experience working with the likes of Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Yuvraj Singh, and Sarwan. They are all great blokes and obviously awesome cricketers. I've been working in the nets a fair bit with Sangakkara and he's just unbelievable. He's the cleanest hitter of the ball, it's just all timing. He has given me some great ideas for my own game. I've also been lucky to have some good Indian test bowlers and they are all fantastic blokes too. Now that I have met Sreesanth, he's a really nice guy that would do anything for you!

"I haven't been lucky enough to get a game just yet but it's hard with only 4 overseas players allowed at the one time and we have some serious players in our side. However, I've been 12th man a few times now and being on the field with over 60,000 cricket crazy Indians screaming at you is an amazing feeling in itself. I now understand why some caught behinds get turned down because you can't hear a thing on the field, its crazy!!

"It's also been a lot of fun off the field, I can't go into too much detail but what I can say is that when our franchise throws a party you definitely don't want to miss it. We have had Bollywood actresses at all our games and parties so that has been great viewing for the lads!! It's crazy over here, the whole of India is buzzing when we walk down the streets!! We have about 15 body gaurds with guns and people taking thousands of pics of us!! It feels like we're movie stars, I really can't explain it properly.
"Well to sum it up I'm having a great time and already it's been a great experience, I just need to get a few games now. I don't think I've ever been so hungry for a game of cricket, it's awesome!!"
