Just thought I would get this forum going with some real thought provoking talk.

All I want to say is that modern cricketers need to harden the ***k up.

I remember the days of Boony, Border, Malcolm, Walsh, Merv etc. Boony would cope SO much crap from fast bowlers (i.e. your a fatty) but kept going on with the show. No whinging. A true manly Aussie cricketer. Unlike now. Although I highly rate Andy G (Bracks) as a top rate ODI fast bowler, he manes make him look like an utter poonce.

Whatever happened to the hardened, manly cricketer that was able to withstand not only a fast ball barrage but a verbal spray as well??????

Tough one.
Sledging as long as it doesnt involve racism is ok.

But it seems as if the Aussies can dish it out, but definately not take it.

I agree. Just as long as racism is not involved then, sledging is fine in my eyes. There is nothing wrong with using "ur mumma and ur sister" jokes as sledging

Some comments can and do cross the line.
But i really think sledging is a part of the game. Its just that the Aussies can give it, just not take it.

Once again, I am in agreeance. Bunch of softies. They need to harden the f**k up as Chopper says.

It's just like with your mates, you can always go to far but you just need to know when to call it quits.

I dunno why everyone is whinging about the Aussies not taking it. Besides racist comments, they tolerate everything. Some other teams they've recently played have been the whingers, using their manipulative power to change the way the game is played by getting umpires replaced, threatening boycotts etc.

I tell you, there were some dodgy decisions in the One Day final, but did the Aussies threaten to boycott? Don't think so. Leave em alone.
